Katherine Heigl recently spoke out about her childhood within "a white bubble." The actress also discusses how this experience has affected her parenting of adopted children that are multiracial. In an interview, she spoke about the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted her body didn't matter to her. However, when talking to her adoptive sister in South Korea about how society treated them, she became aware of how much different their lives were. "I asked my sister, Meg, if she had been treated one way while going out with us parents and a different way when she went out on her own without anyone else. She replied "Oh Yes, all the occasion!" That made me realize that I was so ignorant," Heigl said to Parents. She confessed that she was angry, but she felt the need to use this anger to help her daughters. The couple, who are married to Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr., 4, have been together for thirteen years. In 2009, the couple adopted Nancy Leigh (12), one of their daughters from South Korea, and Adalaide (8 the black child) in the year 2012.
