Katherine Heigl shares how growing up in a 'white bubble' affected the way she raised her adoptive family of multiracial origins. She is the "Firefly Lane" as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress revealed in an interview recently that in regards to the color of her skin, it didn't matter to her how she looked like when she was younger, but once she talked with her older sister who was taken in by South Korea, she realized that society was different when it came to each of the two. "I asked my sister, Meg whether she'd been treated in one manner when she went walking around with our parents and a different way when she went out by herself without them. She answered, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl told Parents, "That made me realise that I had been so ignorant." She said that she was mad, but she felt it was necessary to use her anger to help her daughters. Heigl is the mother of a 4-year-old son with her 13-year husband, Josh Kelley. Their child Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009. Adalaide is an Black 8-year old girl that they adopted in 2012.
