Katherine Heigl discusses the ways that growing up within a "white bubble" changed the way she raised her adoptive family of multiracial origins. Heigl talked to parents about how she realized her ignorance. According to the actor, she became angered. However, she wanted to channel that anger towards helping the girls she adopted. Heigl's husband Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. 4. together for thirteen years. In 2009, they adopted Nancy Leigh (12), one of their daughters from South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in 2012.
