Katherine Heigl shares the ways that growing up in a 'white bubble' has impacted the way that she parented her adopted multiracial family. In an interview, she said in the past that with regards to skin colour, it doesn't really matter. However, after talking to her sister, who was adopted in South Korea she realized just the way society views them. When I inquired of Meg how she was treated at public events, whether in the presence of or without parents, it was completely different. She said: 'Oh yes, I've seen everything!' Heigl admitted to her parents that it made her realize just how naive she had been. She became enraged at the time, and chose to channel her anger into assist her daughters who were adopted by her. Heigl has a son who is four years and Josh Kelley, her husband for the past 13 years. They adopted their daughter Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide 8 years old, who is Black from South Korea in 2012.
